Telecommunications Infrastructure and Broadband Study 2020
On December 20, 2016, the Board of Supervisors accepted the “Telecommunications Infrastructure and Broadband Study 2020” prepared by the Atlantic Group. The purpose of this Study is to provide guidance to the County’s elected and appointed officials and staff, residents and businesses, and interested stakeholders on expanding and improving broadband and telecommunications service in the County. A copy of the Study documents may be downloaded here.
As this website illustrates, Clarke County has begun to implement several of the study’s recommendations, including revising its zoning ordinance regulations for wireless communication facilities. All providers are encouraged to consult the study in addition to county zoning regulations in their efforts to locate new facilities to serve Clarke residents and businesses.
